Cough, I boldy announced to work on a patchless Linux module... but got
heavily delayed by personal issues ... and probably will only be able to
resume work on that after March 15th. I hereby seriously apologize.

Yet that is only so-so related to a true Linux-patch, and I haven't
heard of anything in the queue after Matteo's post...
