[Click] MTU in click

Again, on my tcp thing:

Is their a way to determine the MTU for an output port in click?

This is certainly a hard problem, since downstream elements may add
additional headers before handing the packet over to the network device.

If not: is there a reliable way to probe the outgoing MTU? TCP should be
able to react to ICMP Can't Fragment Error, but these are certainly not
received if a local downstream element cannot deliver the packet to the
interface.
