Are you running your router at user level or in the kernel?  In the  
kernel:

echo VALUE > /click/ELEMENTNAME/HANDLERNAME

Any command will do; just write that command's output to the handler  
file.

For more, try "man click.o".

Which version of Click are you using?  1.4.3 or anonymous CVS?  If  
1.4.3, then try anonymous CVS; we really should make a new release soon.
