How to increase performance of a Click Modular Router

Filip,

Run in the kernel instead of user level; this will probably give you
much more of a performance boost than any of the other ideas you
listed. And use polling rather than interrupts (use the PollDevice
element with a Tulip or Intel e1000 ethernet device).
