If you've added a directory to elements/, then you should look at
configure.in, and in particular the ELEMENTS_ARG_ENABLE lines. Add an
ELEMENTS_ARG_ENABLE(adhoc, [whatever], no) and then add --enable-adhoc when
you run ./configure.

If you've added elements to an existing elements/WHATEVER directory, just
run 'make elemlist' and it will find them.

No changes to buildtool should be necessary.
