Simple example of using llrpc in counter element

Would anyone happen to have a simple example to demonstrate how to use llrpc to read the count value from the click counter element?  So far I am only able to do this through a read to /proc/click/ELM/count and would like to understand how to use llrpc. 

Any example(s) would sure be a big help.
