Subject: How does node 3 knows the successor of identifier 2
To: chord-owner at amsterdam.lcs.mit.edu

Hi Chord Owner,

My name is John Chau. I am a graduate student at Cal State Fullerton, CA.
I am working on my Master Degree in Computer Science. Our Computer Network
teacher wanted me to read this article Chord: A Scalable Peer-to-peer Lookup
Service for Internet Applications by Ion Stoica, etc all published on
SIGCOMM'01, August 27-31, 2001, San Diego, CA. I am a very new to
this Chord protocol. I would like to find a mentor to teach me about this
protocol. I want to learn this protocol very well because I have to
explain to the class in about 3 weeks. I have trouble tracing through the
pseudocode for Figure 4 to find the successor node of an identifier. I
have attached a powerpoint to show whether if I trace correctly. Any help
is highly appreciated.

Regards,

John Chau
