Typically, we build locally on our own FreeBSD machines and ship out a
lsd binary that is statically linked (modulo the db3 library that we
copy out as well).

I guess ideally we would provide a tar-ball that had a configure
script so you wouldn't need to generate it locally on the build
machine that might not have all the necessary macros (e.g.
PKG_CHECK_MODULES).
