[chord] chord simulator scalability?

I don't know when or if the brand new simulator will be ready. Hopefully
someone who is working, or has worked, on it can answer?

Modifications to the old one should certainly be ready by the end of the 
week. Please ping me if the repository hasn't been updated by then.
