Well, what I was doing was

- using on one machine (64 bit MISP) htonq (click)

- decoding on another (x86) using ntonq (Qt Application)

Didn't get the right results until I changed the
ntonq return on x86 machine. Oh well, must have some
error in my thought process then... will explore more.
