[Click] using click scripts in "ns" simulator

I am running ns-2.34 w/ the patch that permits click configurations to be tested under "ns". It appears that only nodes 
of types Node/MobileNode/ClickNode  can be used. Does anyone know if this restriction would be very hard to overcome? 
Would this be a huge effort ( I could try it if well scoped.)
