[Click] C++ porting into Element?

If I have a bunch of C++ code already written in separate files and I want to use some of the functions in this code in an Element, is it easier just to create an Element and just do an ELEMENT_PROVIDES(//code)?
Or is there an easier way of doing this without having to cut and paste code into the Element file and having to resolve function dependencies and such?
