That's right, I just changed LABEL to /dev/hdb2 where / fs is. I'm using grub but I'm sure same applies to lilo.

mmm, did you remove the

append="root=LABEL=/"

(which works only with the RedHat kernel... )
and put :

root=/dev/sdb3

inside of your lilo.conf to indicate where the root fs is?
