[Click] kernel panic and packet loss

Hi!!


I am running a Pentium 4 machine 2.53 Ghz machine with 1Ghz RAM pCI bus 32bit 33
Mhz. Kernel is 2.4.18.. The problem is i am having some occasional
packet loss (not fixed) due to receive overruns as shown by e1000 statistics at
the packet
rate above 10000 (64 bytes) ...

Also this machine soemtimes goes in kernel panic ..saying...

KERNEL BUG at e1000_hw.c:146

..............

Interrupt handler not syncing

then i have to reboot the machine..

I am not sure if these two problems are realted ?? 

does anyone have any idea..how to solve it ?
