Hello,

I'm quite interested in the Chord protocol itself. After download the snapshot codes, I want to find how does it work in detail. Though I'v read some relative codes, there is still a question left:

According to the description of the Chord, each user node has an IP address that can be hashed to a m-bit number(160-bit) using hash function(SHA-1).The result(i'v got a Hex-string ) is called node identifier. As far as I know the identifiers' order can't be preserved,So how can we compare the two identifiers? how did you make it?I will be very grateful if any ideas you can share with me.

Best wishes!
