[chord] help, what is the principle of dbm_noauth

Excuse me.
         I know that chord stores a block and fetches it using its chordID,
         My question is , in a former snapshot of chord0.1, there is a tool
dbm_noauth, we can store a pair (key, value), here the key is defined by
ourselves, not calculated according to its hash result. I am trying to read
the source code, but I can't understand it yet, please tell me how they are
stored and how the string is fetched.
