[chord] data transfers in Chord when nodes leave

Dear Sir,

I understood from your paper "Building Peer-to-Peer Systems With
Chord, a Distributed Lookup Service" that you implement a RPC
interface, in order to transfer data to successors when nodes leave
the network.
Could you please tell me if this implementation is provided within the
Chord source or it relies on an additional layer?
