[chord] some questions about Chord

Sir/Madam,
I am a student in a college in China.I have a question to ask.
I don\'t know how to initialize a Chord system.If a node is the first one in the system,does it send message to all the other nodes,then find there is not a Chord system,then it form a system by itself?
