This lecture is the first one in which we will review UNIX version 6 code by walking through the code and understanding what it does. We probably won't get further than sheet 5 and 6 of the code (chapter 6, pages 1 through 2), which heavily depend on understanding the PDP-11 (chapter 2).
Assignment: Draw a picture of the stack (its contents) after v6 has executed line 0672. What value does sp contain? Hand-in this picture at the beginning of lecture. (Note if you completed the pdp-11 part of lab 0, this assignment is easy!)
