  • Oct 2: We've changed the late hand-in policy so that you have a total of 72 late hours to divide amongst the labs as you like. We think this policy is more reasonable and hopefully clears up the rounding issues that the old policy had.

  • Sep 30: Lab 3 is out.

  • Sep 16: Lab 2 is out. If you built your own JOS compiler toolchain (e.g, on OS X), we've added instructions on the tools page for building a GDB compatible with this toolchain. While not strictly necessary, building your own GDB enables symbolic debugging such as placing breakpoints on source lines, stepping through code, examining variables, etc.

  • Sep 14: We've posted a patched version of QEMU that should address the bugs people have been encountered in lab 1. If you are using Athena, you should use add -f 6.828 instead of add 6.828; otherwise, follow the instructions on the tools page to build your own copy.

  • Aug 29: Lectures will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm in 32-144. The first lecture will be on Wednesday September 9th.
